Boasting over 500 members and back to back to back World Championships the MAD is one of the largest and most successful debating societies in the world.
The Monash Association of Debaters is one of the most active clubs on the Clayton campus of Monash University. For over 50 years MAD has trained generations of students in public speaking and debating. Every year we send contingents to tournaments throughout Australia and across the world.
For our members we offer training geared at all levels, fantastic social events, internal and external competitions, paid employment as school coaches and adjudicators and sponsorship to attend tournaments globally.
The club is open to all students and staff of Monash University. Membership is free for MSA card holders and you can try out sessions before you join. We meet every Monday at 5pm in the Law Basement (Building 12) for training, practice debates and free pizza. We also hold a wide range of social events each semester as well as sending members of all experience levels to intervarsity tournaments.
